Charity Navigator, an organization that evaluates the financial health of more than 5,000 charities nationwide, recently unveiled a more in-depth rating system that ranks charities based on ethical practices, accountability and transparency with donors. In September 2011, The Farnsworth Art Museum received FOUR Stars – the highest rating, putting the museum among the nation’s top-ranked non-profit organizations.
Working to guide intelligent giving, Charity Navigator helps people give charitable contributions with confidence. At the same time they aim a shining light on truly effective and fiscally responsible organizations – like the Farnsworth Art Museum. In fact, The Farnsworth Museum is the only arts or cultural organization in the state of Maine with a Four Star Rating!
As you consider your end-of-the-year giving we hope you will consider with confidence a gift to the Farnsworth. If received before January 15, 2012, every new and increased gift to the museum will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000.
